The 32-inch Sony KV-32FS210 FD Trinitron WEGA TV features a flat-glass screen that minimizes the reflection of room lights and reduces glare and geometric distortion. Its high-focus electron gun has a focal length 30 percent greater than conventional televisions for better corner focus, while the fine-pitch aperture grille allows more electrons to reach the screen surface for brighter, clearer, sharper images. It also features 2-tuner PIP (picture-in-picture) capability, enabling you to view pictures from two different channels simultaneously.

The 3D digital comb filter helps reduce video noise by separating the chrominance (color) and luminance (brightness) portions of the composite video signal. With the 16:9 enhanced aspect ratio mode, all viewable scan lines are concentrated within the letterbox image to deliver maximum picture quality and anamorphic widescreen content in full detail.

Aspect ratio: The aspect ratio refers to the shape of the video image. Standard television has a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is almost square in appearance. Digital television will have either a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, which is widescreen and appears rectangular, looking more like a movie screen and filling more of the viewer's field of vision for a more lifelike viewing experience.

Great TV - Narrower Cabinet Than Competitors
We orginally bought a JVC AV32F475, but returned it because it was an inch to wide for our TV stand. The JVC is 37.5", the Toshiba FST Pure Flat 32 is 38", and the Sony is 35.5" wide.

This model is bit more expensive than the FS100, but is probably worth the extra cost. There is slight difference in picture and there have been some complaints about problems with CNBC tickers and other scrolling lines on the FS100. In addition, the FS210 was reviewed by directly by Consumer Reports, as was the 310 (which is more expensive). Both received favorable reviews.

The picture is very crisp and the sound quality is good - just what you would expect from Sony. There are also more inputs with this model than the FS100 or the JVC F475, which gives you more flexibility (even if you don't need them now, five years from now you might). It also has PIP.

One suggestion is to also get a Motorola Signal Booster. At this size, TVs will show imperfections with the Cable (and HD monitors only amplify this problem). If the signal is bad, the picture will look very grainy (we had this problem). The booster makes a HUGE difference.

Beautiful pictures, nice options.
I recently purchased this TV, and the picture is beautiful. The viewing angle is phenomenal, and the TV doesn't show any glare from light sources, even if they're positioned directly behind the TV. If you're not ready to jump up to HDTV, this is the model for you.
