Product Description

The H-20D FlipUp Cap clips into place for Canon 10D and 20D camera by slipping the original eye piece up and off of the camera. Next slide the H-20D FlipUp cap over the eyepiece mounting flanges to cover the entire LCD screen. The cap provides protection for the delicate LCD screen when in closed position.

Saved my 20D from destruction5
My 20D went flying when my girlfriend slipped on wet decking on a trail in a national park in China, she went one way, camera went the other and landed on the back. The Hoodman pop up function broke, the camera was fine (girlfriend ok also)! The LCD cover is still ok, just the pop up feature is gone (spring that opens the door went somewhere under the boardwalk, otherwise it could have been snapped together again) As for not being able to view the LCD easily, there is a protective film over the plastic that needs to be pealed off the unit, otherwise, it is hard to see the screen, w/o the protective cover, works as advertised! (protective film not mentioned in the instructions!!!) Buying a new one today!

Hoodman H-20 Flip Up for Canon 20D Review4
The Hoodman Flip Up (H-20) is a good product and works well on the Canon 20D Camera. It is a bit delicate and should be used with care. If it is forced open or closed the plastic tips that hold the two side shields in place will break and shields will fall off. I have used three different flip up on my camera. I spoke to a Hoodman representative about this design problem and they actually replaced one broken flip up for free. Use with care.

Good at protecting the LCD but....3
I find this product to be great when your out on the field where it may be a little dusty or a little wet. Otherwise, I don't like it when I'm in-doors. I'm often previewing my shot to ensure the shot looks the way I want it, and having to open and close this between shots is a bit of annoyance. So I have it pocketed in my bag when I'm outside, otherwise, there are better solutions, and after having the LCD unprotected for many a few years now, it's been okay without.

Just keep the camera in a bag when you aren't using it, and you'll be fine.
