Amazon.com Product Description
The Sigma 28-200mm f3.5-5.6 DG Macro Lens for Minolta Digital SLR Cameras is a compact, high-zoom ratio lens, ideal for full-frame digital SLR cameras. This lens covers all the focal lengths from 28 millimeter wide angle to 200 millimeter telephoto--the most frequently used focal length range. With a maximum diameter of 2.75 inches and length of three inches, this lens is compact and portable enough to be carried anywhere, making it is ideal for travel.

This digitally optimized ultra telephoto lens is equipped with the latest in multi-layer coating technology that reduces both flare and ghosting and ensures an accurate color balance and high definition results. The use of aspherical lens elements in both of the front and rear lens groups effectively compensates for various aberration throughout the entire zoom range. At the 200 millimeter telephoto setting, the lens is capable of macro photography with a 1:3.8 maximum magnification. A zoom lock switch mechanism is provided to prevent the lens from creeping due to its own weight, and to avoid the danger of the lens receiving a shock while it is being carried.

sigma lens for sony5
Great lens. Its metal body feels solid, unlike the ones the come with my camera which is made of plastic & feels like a toy. The pictures I took was clearer than the sony lens. The drawback is that it's on the heavy side & the auto focus mechanism is a little slower the the plastic one. All in all, you not only get your money's worth but you get more for your money.

Great Value4
I've not had much time to use this lens, but so far, it has performed very well. Seems to be a little sticky when zooming, but really doesn't interfer with lens operation. I consider it to be an excellent value considering its price vs performance. If I were a professional, I may be more critical, but as of right now, I'm very satisfied.

Great Lens for a Low Price4
This lens takes great pictures and I got it for under $100. However, when zooming, the lens "sticks" in the 100mm range. Since I photo mostly baseball with the lens fully extended, it doesn't bother me all that much. However, if I were constantly zooming in and out it would probably bother me more than it does. I am sure this is an anomaly and I was just too lazy to return the lens. I'd still recommend it, however; I can't give it five stars due to the less than smooth operation of the zoom.
