Reinvigorate your iPod with a high-capacity battery from Sonnet! All iPods use batteries that can only be recharged so many times, and their charge capacities get smaller as time passes. If your iPod doesn't play as long as it used to, give it a boost with one of Sonnet iPod replacement batteries - it's a great, economical way to give new life to your player.

DIY and Save + But Instructions Could Be Better
I replaced my 3G iPod battery today without incident. It seems to be an excellent product at a very good price. That said, there are a few things missing from the instructions:
1. There are no printed instructions or diagrams. You must have a working computer nearby to watch the video.
2. Use one of the plastic tools to loosen the case as described, but I found it helps to leave the tool inserted and use a fingernail file to actually pry open the case. As happened with another user, I chipped off part of one tool opening the case. Fortunately, Sonnet provides two.
3. Prying back and forth as the instructions say may leave a seal that is not as tight as it was originally. I am considering gluing or using some other sealant on mine...not sure about this yet...
4. When closing the case, snap the bottom part with the dock connector in first or you may break the case. (I almost did this wrong.)
It worked for me!
Better than the original when it was new, 30 minutes tops to replace, no problems
Though it takes a little bit of effort to figure exactly how much pressure to apply to open up your ipod (probably more than you anticipate) this is easy as pie ... well, basically easier than some lego projects you may have done. Instructions are not super, but there are tons of online resources that are great, just google search for them.
The battery itself returns incredible results ... outlasts the original battery by about 10-25% on average. It will likely outlast the hard drive. I've recommended it to my friends and would do the same to you, w/Amazon's free shipping it's certainly the best deal on a replacement battery you can depend on.
Battery really holds a charge -- highly recommended for the handy
Battery is impressive. Seems like it holds a charge better than the original. Recommended highly if you are handy. Advise squeezing the case inwards on the edges before re-assembly to ensure a tight fit (reversing any mis-shaping of the case as a result of prying the metal bottom of the case from the plastic top during dis-assembly of the case). Use of other tools than the plastic ones provided may be necessary.
