Customer Reviews
I can see clearly now
I'm buying my second one - the first one has worn out after six years of use. I like this one better than others because it sticks out farther so you can see behind you better. It also has a hinge so that when it knocks into something, it doesn't break or fall off... also good for easily moving it to make the bike fit in the trunk better.
It's fallen off a lot recently, but I think in the first five years, it fell of once before I really tightened it down (it has a knob that makes it removable by hand, but the knob lines up flush with the arm so when the mirror is extended, it's not noticeable).
Wobbly but functional
This mirror has a gooseneck adjustment, which is handy for readjustment. However, the upshot is that it wobbles. In addition, because it is horizontal rather than vertical, the wobblyness is exacerbated, and if you change your seating position a bit, you will no longer see what you dialed in in the first place.
Works fine
We just rode our Comfort bikes up to the bike shop at the end of the
Lexington Bikeway and picked up two of these.
I used my pocket knife to cut the ends off the rubber grips and inserted
the expandable section into the end of the grip and turned the plastic
knob to lock the mirror in place. A knife was the only tool needed.
The mirror comes with a few rubber sleeves, in case the inside diameter
of your handle bars is too large. Mine were too small, I had to forget
the rubber sleeves and really force the expandable section to get it in.
Took me about 5 minutes to do both bikes.
When I hear a car coming up on me, it's real nice to be able to glance
over and see if he's talking on his cell and driving on the curb. :)
Cheers,
Rich
