Editorial Reviews
From the Manufacturer
The FinePix A800 is the first model in Fujifilm's A-Series line-up to sport an 8-megapixel Super CCD sensor and the first to incorporate light sensitivities of up to ISO 800 at full resolution. Borrowing a page from Fujifilm's more advanced camera models, the FinePix A800 shoots at higher light sensitivities with less noise than comparative models. This results higher quality "natural light" photos and less blur in images as the FinePix A800 matches these higher light sensitivities with faster shutter speeds.
The new Finepix A800 will also feature a new enhanced GUI (Graphic User Interface) icon based menu system specifically designed to make it easy for first-time digital camera users to find their way around all of the brilliant features of the camera. The menu system even offers a brief description of each feature/setting as you move through the menu; so finding the right adjustment of setting is a snap!
In addition, the Finepix A800 features more preset scene positions than ever before in an entry level Finepix digital camera, offering 14 different scene positions that make it easy to get great pictures in a variety of challenging shooting environments.
Fujifilm's new A-Series models offer the following attractive features:
- 8.3M Super-CCD-HR
- Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens
- Automatic ISO setting up to 800 with low noise
- Large 2.5-inch LCD display for easy framing and playback
- Improved icon based graphic user interface menu
- Easy operation for basic functions with mode dial selector
- Internal memory (approximately 10MB)
- Fourteen flexible scene position modes optimize camera performance
- New Xd/SD media slot accepts either xD media or SD card
Fujifilm Finepix A800 digital camera, 2 AA-size alkaline batteries, hand strap, AV cable, USB cable (mini-B), CD-ROM with FinePixViewer-S for Windows2000Pro/XP/Vista and FinePixViewer for Macintosh, Windows98SE/Me, owner's manual
Customer Reviews
Fuji makes a fine camera!
This is my second Fuji camera and I love it! It takes clear, sharp pictures and is really easy to use. The video feature captures wonderful footage with very little shake and decent audio. For a "point and shoot" camera this is excellent value for the money!
Almost perfect
This is my second Fuji digital. My first one had a view finder. This one does not. I dont think anyone should buy a camera that doesnt have a view finder in my opinion. You just cant see the lcd screen in bright sunny conditions. I love Fuji picture quality. I like the size and the familiar functions. I just dont like that it doesnt have a viewfinder. No matter what brand I buy next, it will have a view finder.
Good Little Camera
This is the 3rd Fuji Finepix I have owned. I've never had any problems with any of them and the pictures are great. I compared this one to a Sony at the same price, and the Fuji won me over. The Fuji now has the image stabilization which helps as I get older and cannot hold the camera as steady as I used to. Great little camera for the amateur or professional.
