An Excellent Wide-Angle Lens
I bought this lens back in April 08 for my XHA1 & and I've used it extensively on shoots. Most of the events I shoot are in confined or limited space environments. Which means I don't always have the luxury of being able to stand back to get the shot.
This is where the WD-H72 come into play. The extra few degrees latitude means the difference between getting or missing that awkward shot.
It's not as wide as some other third-party lens, but you can use full-zoom & get a compatible lens hood. My only complaint is the weight, as soon as you mount this lens the camera feels front-heavy.
To summarise, what you get for your money is a lens that doesn't degrade or compromise HD image clarity, compliments the XHA1 and works as advertised. Buy if you want use full-zoom, don't mind the extra weight & don't need to shoot ultra-wide-angle video.
I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the weight.
Highly recommended.
Should Not Have the Canon Name on the Lens
It works as advertise, but that is about all. This adapter is not even close to the glass that is already on the the camera (XHA1). There is a day and night difference in the sharpness of the image. But saying all that, I still use it on every shoot.
Good, but not great
This lens was a great add on for the XHA1, but honestly I am not impressed when comparing the footage I've captured on less cameras with the Raynox lenses. NO THREADS on the front means, no filters for the Canon lens. It's also a bit heavy. Good for what it is, just not great.
