Nicely made, reasonably priced!
This all-metal tripod adapter is also sold under the Pentax name for about the same price, and the Brunton name for more than TWICE the price! It works well on both my Nikon Monarch 8X42 ATB and my Pentax 12X50 PCF WPII binoculars, but I will not even attempt to mount my large and heavy 20X80 on this. The narrow allen-head screw is for the tight space between some roof prism binocular barrels; I have not had to use it, but it is nice to have. It screws into the base as shown for storage, but I wish there was another threaded hole to store the binocular's tripod mount cover, so both the screw and cover wouldn't get lost. Nicely designed and reasonably priced (unless you get the Brunton brand). If you plan to mount binos with objectives larger than say, 60mm, you might want to look at a heavier mount, but I can certainly recommend this one for small or standard binos!

ADDED! Well, now I see the reasonably priced Nikon and Pentax versions are "currently unavailable"! But that ultra-expensive Brunton brand is still there, at that idiotic JACKED-UP PRICE! So, what kind of behind the scenes collusion went on for this to happen? I don't know, but as usual, the customers get screwed.
