This is the EC55, but on steroids!
I've had the Sony EC77 for a month now and it's just what I was hoping for. It has the 3rd middle range on each speaker and is balanced quite well. I was concerned, at first, that the bass would be over-powering but the equalizer pre-settings have several options that tame the bass nicely. Also, I was surprised, right out of the box, at how good looking the whole unit was... and it's not too big in size. I have it in an average, apartment size bedroom.

Great Sound, faulty cd player
I bought this system in April and immediately fell in love with it. Plenty of power and nice looking. But in the last few weeks I've wanted to smash it. It will not play any kind of cd anymore. I even purchased this system rather than the one with the sub because the reviews for it said faulty cd player. The audio in and radio are still functioning flawless, but that's not what I bought this for. I wouldn't recommend this system to anyone.

LITTLE MORE BASS

Handsome shelf set, although a bit larger than expected. Sound is great with audial detail, except that bass could have been a bit deeper to be fully satisfying. Good for the money.
