Amazon.com Product Description
This seat is the perfect accessory to make any little girl’s room feel like her very own castle--with her as the reigning princess! Inspired by the 2007 fall release of the Barbie as The Island Princess DVD movie (in which Barbie takes on the role of Princess Rosella), this white throne features scrolling details and purple and lavender accents.

On closer inspection though, you’ll see that there are a multitude of hidden treasures to delight your queen in training. The intricate seatback is housing play jewelry like bracelets, rings, a necklace, earrings, and even a tiara. Lift the seat up to reveal a secret compartment that holds a skirt, press-on nails, and a micro-mini doll. The glittery skirt can be attached to the edge of the chair when not being worn by your princess or it can be stashed back in the seat’s compartment until needed again.

Whether being used as the backdrop scene for playing with a favorite Barbie or as an actual chair, this throne is bound to provide hours of imaginative entertainment. Barbie dolls are not included with the magical chair, but Princess Rosella and Prince Antonio can be purchased separately.

little princess5
We bought this chair for my daughter for her 5th b-day. The chair was a huge hit. All the little girls loved sitting on it. A perfect spot for someone to sit while opening their gifts.

The chair seems larger than it looks, it's very low to the ground. I suggest this is better for a younger child who can grow into the chair. (I just purchased my second one for my two year old niece. Ok to fit up to a 7 year old, also depending on weight. The quality of the chair is thick plastic. The earrings and tiara have dangling stones that fall off, so watch out. The chair opens, so you can store items inside, and the necklace is the key to open the chair.

Where's the back of it?3
Amazon had this on sale for about twenty dollars last week, so I purchased this for my own little four year old princess. She had wanted it and she definitely needed (sure) a throne, so for that price, with free shipping, it was really a good deal.

I put the throne together easily and it is and was a big hit with her. Everything works as it supposed to.

So, why not four or five stars? Well, really, this retails for about $80, and it definitely isn't worth this because the back of the chair comes unfinished. So, unless you have an actual Throne Room, where your little monarch can greet her subjects, you will occasionally-- most likely-- have the back of the chair showing. And, it is unattractive. There are about eight to ten screw heads sticking out of it, the long part of the necklace, and it's left completely unadorned. I imagine it would have cost Mattel an additional fifty cents to create a snap-on plastic plate to cover all this. And, they didn't do it.

The chair is only attractive from the front. My daughter wanted to put this upstairs and use it with her Disney Princess Vanity (that came with a little plastic stool) and now the pretty part of the chair only shows in the mirror of the vanity. It's just really ugly from the back. I am trying to decide how to cover that part, but since the screws actually stick OUT of the chair about a quarter inch (safely-- surrounded by plastic), I can't just put on some pretty decals. I'm going to have to actually do something a bit more time-consuming.

Other gripe: The chair's removeable jewelry is not so well-made. The chairs gems are really removeable bracelets, rings, earrings, necklace, and crown. They are very very cheaply made-- no better than the kids' toy store jewelry you might buy occasionally. They are not so easy to pull out of the chair and they are not so easy to snap back in. She can do it some of the time, but often needs assistance. Also, the earrings are molded kind of weirdly with two little pieces of protruding plastic that hurt anyone's ears when put on. The good part about this is that they can stay on, but they really hurt. The rings are too big (like most pretend jewelry) but the bracelets are perfectly sized.

The skirt would have been improved for both the chair and the girl had it been a bit elasticized.

From the front, this is a great little throne. With batteries, it plays a short ceremonial melody every time someone sits upon it. My daughter loves this. And, it has two little secret compartments-- under the seat (which uses a little button or key to open it) and on the arm rest (a teeny princess doll is included, but watch out! The legs break off of this immediately and you have to keep snapping them on!) The other armrest has a built in mirror.

So, my daughter really likes her throne and I like that she likes it. I am very much less unimpressed with the big huge shortcut Mattel took when making it, though.

The Princesses Throne4
This throne was an absolute hit at my daughter's fifth birthday party. All the girls enjoyed sitting on the throne with their wands and tiaras, taking pictures. It was the last piece of the puzzle that I was searching for for my daughter's Princess party where every girl, really felt like a princess.
