Don't let the price fool you!!!5
Without getting all techie on you I will say that this RPTV is on par with the more expensive SXRD A3000. I know all about the A3000 and its color technology and 120Hz frame-rate but honestly I did my homework and this E3000 is on on equal footing despite lacking a few features and being of the 3LCD technology(which Sony really amped up here with 1080p and the Bravia tag). It's a great TV(the blacks & detail are amazing- thanks to the advanced Iris and Sony's Cinemotion), though I am partial to Sony TV's in general but save the money and get the E series over the A series. You might be surprised!!!!

You cannot go wrong with this TV5
I bought this TV back in November, I almost bought the upper level SXRD model but in the end I decided to stick with the cheaper version. Oh and was I ever surprised. I of course haven't been able to compare the two TVs but I just gotta say my image is nothing short of stunning. Watching movies from an HD source, or just watching HD sports is mind blowing. I just got a Wii and hooked it up via component cables and I don't think I have ever seen Wii sports look that good.
The real surprise though, something which some reviewers have complained about, is the SD image. I was prepared to grimace every time I watched something not in HD, thankfully that is not the case. I watch a lot of classic movies on TCM and other cable movie channels and I have to say I am very impressed. Especially when watching an older movie the image is surprisingly sharp. This TV seems very very very similar to the upper level SXRD version (as far as features, image quality etc.) are concerned and if you are a little tight on money this TV is a great choice. I could not be happier with my choice.

great value4
Picture quality was the biggest selling point for us. After shopping around at a few brick and mortar stores with both bright lighting and dim lighting, we decided we liked the picture on this TV the best in the up-to-$2000 range (and better than most plasmas, flat panel lcds, dlps, and sxrds they had, period). The biggest issue I have is the transition from light to dark scenes and vice-versa.
Sound is so-so. Acceptable, but not extraordinary in any way.
It has sufficient features for me. I only have an antenna (fantastic pictures and more channels compared to the old analog tv I had), vcr, and upconvert 1080p hdmi dvd player (which I learned later is mostly a marketing ploy) hooked up to it. Looking forward to the time they settle the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray thing.
