The Terk XMDSON110 is a Smart Digital Adapter which allows you to connect the Terk XMDirect Universal XM Satellite Radio tuner to a compatible, satellite-ready Sony car stereo receiver. Installation Note: Because of cable lengths, the XMDSON110 should be installed behind the dash within 2-3 feet of the XMD1000 tuner. Connection/Wiring Overview: The XMDSON110 has two connections: a 16-pin Molex jack and an 8-pin Mini-DIN jack. The adapter includes three cables which are connected as follows: UniLink to XMDirect Adapter Cable: This 27-1/2" provides an interface between the Sony head unit (via the UniLink connection) and the XMDSON110 adapter (via the 16-pin Molex connection). Mini-DIN Cable: This 40" cable connects between the XMDSON110 adapter and the XMD1000 XMDirect tuner. The cable has 8-pin Mini-DIN connectors on each end. RCA Audio Patch Cable: This 75" standard stereo RCA audio cable directly connects the XMD1000 XMDirect tuner and the Sony head units Aux-in or BUS Audio-in jacks. CD Changer Integration: If the XMD1000 XMDirect Satellite Tuner and XMDSON110 Smart Digital Adapter are to be installed into a Sony car audio system that includes a CD changer (or other UniLink component), the Sony XA-C30 Source Selector (item # 158XAC30) must be added
