Causes vignetting- is not a large enough lens for an HV20
The lens comes with an adapter for 43mm so it does 'fit'; on a Canon HV20. It will also look fine while you are taping because the viewfinders are slightly enlarged and don't show the full frame. However, once you view the video on a TV or computer you will see that there is considerable vignetting (black areas, as if you were looking through a tube) in all four corners. You can reduce this by zooming in which basically defeats the purpose for which you purchased this lens in the first place. I would not recommend this for the HV20 (and I image the HG10 as well although I have not tried it myself). Guess I know one reason why the Canon lens costs more.
