Customer Reviews
Not quite as easy as it looks
My twin daughters received this for Christmas last year. They were 6 1/2 at the time. They love to do crafts, but this project was a bit hard for them to do by themselves. I had to help them and ultimately ended up doing most of it. They just got frustrated (and bored because it is the same thing over and over). The strips are plastic and a bit hard to work with because they are slick and just don't bend easily. You also have to make sure you keep them all pushed together and lined up. The instructions were very easy to follow, and it really wasn't hard to make, just time-consuming. The handles were a little more involved. It is neat that you can choose where to put your colors to make different patterns. The finished product is adorable. It will be great for going to the pool or the beach or really anywhere. It is fairly large, so it holds a lot of stuff. My girls love the bags now that they are finished! I would recommend this, but for a bit older children, maybe 8 and up (I'm not sure what the recommended age was on it to begin with). I think even crafty teens would enjoy doing this project. My girls have very long attention spans, but this was a bit long for them. If it was easier for them, though, it would have held their attention longer. I have always been impressed with Alex Toys in general.
