Product Description
The G9's freestyle inspired looks and state of the art protection helps give you the confidence to stomp that new trick you've been working on. The G9 Helmet's impact- absorbing foam liner takes the brunt of huge impacts, so your brain doesn't have to. The tough polycarbonate outer shell will take multiple seasons of small hits. Once you get tired of the park, hike the ridge for some freshies. Giro gave the G9 helmet 12 vents to keep you cool and comfortable on the way up. If the temperature drops and the wind picks up on top, plug the vents with the included Weatherstrip vent plugs. The G9's ample venting and light weight make it an excellent choice for backcountry riding as well.

great ski helmet
I bought the Giro G9 for a recent 5 day ski trip. I found it to be very comfortable- It was easy to forget you were wearing it. This is not easy to admit as I was quite reluctant to start wearing a helmet. The quick size adjustment mechanism in the rear was my favorite feature. It allowed you to quickly and easily customise the fit and made wearing a helmet liner on really cold days very easy.A couple of clicks on the adjuster made room in the helmet for the liner instantly. No more "too tight with the liner and too loose without it" compromises. this was the feature that put this helmet ahead of its competitors for me.
Noggin' saver!
Well, I have to give this item 5 stars, because it has saved my life! I got it in the color Sepia, which looks very fashionable for ladies. I ski a lot and sometimes fall and hit my head on hard snow. This helmet does a great job preventing serious injuries on the slopes. I see so many people out there without helmets, and they just don't realize how serious it can be if your head hits the snow!
Before I bought the helmet, I read helmet reviews on Backcountry.com. Here is a link to the article. The Giro G9 did very well in these reviews!

Comfortable, warm, light.
I bought the Giro G9 in January 2008 for skiing and some riding. I am very pleased with this helmet. It is extremely light, comfortable, and easy to adjust. While skiing or riding, I do not even realize I'm wearing a helmet instead of a hat.
The G9 is very warm. It blocks the wind (unlike typical knitted hats) and traps heat within. This helmet has kept my head warm in temperatures as low as 0 degF with no troubles. On warmer days, there are linings on the inside which are easily removed (and later replaced) to provide ventilation (cheaper alternative to the vent switch on the Giro G10 and Giro Fuse).
I highly recommend the Giro G9. I will continue to use it until it requires replacement, and I will absolutely replace it with another Giro helmet. If you do not purchase the Giro G9, seriously consider the Giro G10 or Giro Fuse helmets.
