Product Description

With nearly 60 motorcycle books to his credit, Mick Walker turns his attention to the development and production of Ducati's formidable four-valve V-twins introduced in 1989. Covering models built for both road and track, the book also charts the history of a company that pulled itself from the brink to regain its status as one of the motorcycle industry's key players. Full specifications and a special part-by-part chapter on Ducati engineering cover the Italian marque's 851, 888, 916, 996, 748 and ST4. Fully illustrated with archival photos and a special eight-page color section.

NECESSARY for ENTHUSIASTS - BUT CONFUSING4
As a die hard Ducati 916/996 fan this book is a must have, because its the only reference book in print for the world's most best sportbike. Lots of pictures and inside technical information from a historical prospective of the production bikes and the factory racebikes. However, it is organized poorly and somewhat confusing, lots of press kit photos, with not much work going into creating new and original photography for the book. Not to helpful in modifying your own bike to upgrade its performance. Totally ignores the exhistance of the Ducati factory parts book. But if you own a 4-valve Duck you need this book in your library. Visit online FastDates.com for complete coverage of World Superbike racing.

Not his best work..3
This book is not up to Micks usual high standard and will be suitable only for diehard Ducati fans. Nonetheless I found the book informative. More pages could have been devoted to the racing history. Speaking of which, Mick does Scot Russell a diservice in the epic battle for the superbike crowns for 1993 / 1994.

I bought the book and passed it on and will buy a few more for firends. But it will not be added to my library..
