Good protection, extremely low profile
I've been using CA's anti-virus software for years now. I'm on a dedicated DSL connection and have had no problems with infections or connectivity. The few times I did receive a virus (via email), CA anti virus locked in on it right away.

This is the most unobtrusive anti-virus software I've seen (and as the "computer guy" amongst my friends and family, I've seen a lot!). The real-time protection barely registers on the CPU. Full scans, like most other similar products, do take away from system resources; I recommend configuring the software to run full scans at convenient times or manually.

The auto-update feature works well. I'm occasionally asked to reboot after an update - I'm guessing this is a binary update and not the virus signatures.

The 3 computer license is very handy as many homes have multiple PCs.

This is a mature product that does its job without hampering your daily usage of the computer - what more do you need??

great product with great flexibility
The best about this product is that you are allowed to choose what to install. For me, I always feel the windows firewall is as good as if not better than the third-party firewall. And I don't quite believe in email blockers. So I just installed personal internet antivirus on my computer. and I have had no problems so far. And I know my computer's speed will not be affected since only one function is installed. I used to have Northn Antivirus, my computer becomes extremely slow because Norton use up so much system resource. So I don't like it.

The USB drive is cute and more important, it's free to keep. The installation from the USB flash drive is easy. And you can use it on 3!! computers.

Overall, I strongly recommend it to everybody, especially someone who likes to micro-control their own pc and prefers a better system performance.

Won't hog your PC
Before buying CA Antivirus I bought McAfee Virus Scan Plus. It was a big hog of my PC, slowed everything down big time when a scan was running and also every time updates came in. Even when no scan was running it slowed my PC. It had very annoying registery pop-ups too. I had Norton Antivirus for several years but because of the bad reviews for the 07 version I went with CA. CA Antivirus is so much better. Doesn't hog the PC like McAfee. Runs smooth. It would have been nice if a firewall had been included.
