Customer Reviews
What cay I say? It's solder.
How do you review a consumable? This stuff worked like solder is supposed to work. All of the electrical connections that I have made with it so far have been perfectly satisfactory.
A good all-purpose electrical solder...
Got this, then someone asked me what "40/60 rosin core solder" means. Simply put, it means that it's composed of 40% tin, 60% lead, and has a rosin flux contained in the wire core. Think that I learned this on an episode of Tim Allen's Home Improvement: The Complete Eighth Season, but am not too sure.
All of this really means is that this is a good, general purpose solder designed for most electrical/electronic work, and that the flux residue is non-corrosive.
Made in Mexico?
Like others have said, solder is solder. I ordered this product for one reason. If you look at the picture, the label clearly says "Made in U.S.A." The product I received wasn't in the exact same packaging. Although, it appears to be the same company. Instead of "alphametals," it's "alphafry" (same font and everything...looks the same) ...and it's "Made in Mexico." So much for supporting the home team. :( Oh well.
