The media tablet is a godsend when your laptop battery just died. Also a great gadget to have when you are in the airport waiting to board. Fill it with TV shows, movies and music, play games & surf the net.

For bookworms like me, it'll save your sanity during those long hours of waiting at the airport and aboard the planes, cruise ships & trains. Of course, it will also give you something to do in the hotel while the whole city sleeps except you. Darn that jet lag.

Some hotels do not provide wireless internet but has high speed internet you can plug into your laptop. Some provide you with the cable, other don't. You can easily share your internet by creating an instant wireless network in your room. Cradlepoint is easy enough to set up. Now your gadgets can share the internet connection. Even your wife's laptop.

I always carry a shuffle. A back-up when my iPod Touch battery dies. Also like having it whenever I go exploring a city on my own. Saves you from having to make small talk with weird guys on the Tube. Or when biking.

Always bring a maglite/ flashlight and put it in your first aid/emergency kit. As a girl scout, I like being prepared for all eventualities.
