Customer Reviews

Eye Candy but no substance3
I received this book as a gift after reading a review in a local newspaper. I was anxious to try any techniques since I am a 40 year old mom who knows the basics of make-up application, but wanted some inside tricks. The pictures are gorgeous, but impractical for everyday wear, like bold yellow shadow with turquoise liner. The tips that were practical were ones that I already knew from other sources. It glossed the surface of wearing make-up for different age levels. So I did not get much out of tricks for a 40 year old face. Like I said, this book is just eye candy.

Pretty good...4
Let me start by saying that I am NOT a professional make-up artist. I am a make-up addict though and have always been interested in it. I know the basics, but my routine was getting old and I needed something new now that I am getting older. At first skim through, the book isn't all too impressive. Fancy pictures, old information, and some new ideas. The interviews were cute too. I did find some stuff that I really appreciated.
Definitely worth a look.
Depending on your level of make-up expertise, you can decide if purchasing or borrowing it and making a few copies is best for you.
