You don't see egg cups much anymore, but even if they're specialty dishware from your grandmother's era, they're still pretty cool. And if you're not into eggs (or even if you are), they do double duty as sorbet dishes when you're serving up a small scoop to top off a large meal. This clear glass egg cup is handmade and has an old-fashioned raised-dot design. The inside of the cup is smooth and the dots are on the outside, which provides a nice grip for your fingers. The cup is 2-1/2 inches high by 2 inches wide. Dishwasher-safe. --Doree Armstrong

Your Choice: Egg Cup or Sorbet Cup
The L.E. Smith Glass Company manufactures a handmade, retro-inspired line of Hobnail Glassware, including a punch set, dessert service, and serving pieces in Pink, Lime, Ice Blue, Amber, and Clear. These charming pieces are reminiscient of the highly collectible glassware lines dating from the 1930s-1940s and can be mixed and matched with china or used on their own.

The "Clear" Hobnail Egg Cup/Sorbet Dish is as versatile as its name implies. As an egg cup, it would hold a soft-boiled egg, which may have had one end removed with a cute "chicken-handled" egg clipper. As a sorbet dish, it would hold a small scoop of sorbet or gelato, with some Italian cookies on the matching 8-Inch dessert plate. I think one could find many other uses for this small decorative glass cup; be creative!

This lovely glassware is dishwasher-safe, but I recommend hand washing and drying to avoid etching or scratching.

My favourite Sorbet Dish ever...
This is not only great for sorbets, which are my favourite, but can be used in many other ways. To be honest you can make so much use out of this item, it will always be used in the kitchen, and for all ocasions. The different colours can also be used according to what you are serving, and the type of guests you are having over.
