Amazon.com Review
Wide-ranging in purpose and good-looking to boot, this rectangular Le Creuset baker takes casseroles and desserts straight from the oven to the table. And, its lid adds extra versatility for roasting. Crafted from durable stoneware, the piece distributes and retains heat excellently, and its handsome design incorporates a flared rim and rounded corners for easy serving and washing. Heavy-duty for years of use, the enameled surface is impervious to lingering odors and does not stain, chip, or craze with normal wear.
One of the reasons Le Creuset stoneware is so popular is that it simplifies the steps from prep to cleanup. Use this dish to marinate in the fridge, bake in the oven, reheat in the microwave, and store in the freezer--everything but cook on the stovetop. Measuring 8-1/2 by 2 by 11 inches, the baker comes in several lively colors with contrasting neutral interiors. Coordinating Le Creuset ramekins, loaf pans, and pie plates are also available. --Emily Bedard

Will knob break off?
I ordered one of these in Kiwi over a year ago from Amazon. It's a beautiful baker; and the stoneware is wonderful to bake in--plus it cleans up easily, although a little scrubbing with nylon is sometimes needed or soaking overnight in sudsy water. I love Le Creuset's stoneware products and continue to collect them! The knob on the baker I ordered arrived with a hole bored through it which seemed to serve no purpose. It was livable withable and didn't affect appearance, so I kept the baker. However, the lid was evidentially hit a bit while in storage at home; and the knob cracked at the base and became loose. So this is a warning to store stoneware carefully and be advised that knobs are easily broken. It seems some of the newer Le Creuset bakers avoid this problem by getting rid of knobs!
The size will surprise you
First of all we really like the product, but were confused because the description read "Product Dimensions: 13.8 x 5.5 x 10.5 inches"
THAT'S THE SIZE OF THE BOX, NOT THE PRODUCT. But I really think that's misleading. From the bottom of the pan to the top of the cover knob, it is 5.5 inches. When you open the box you'll see the correct (inside) dimensions printed on the product wrapper 10 3/4 x 8 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches. If you're expecting a 5" deep pan, you'll be disappointed.
Nice baker, great price
This is a nice covered baker. The size is really great, in my opinion. The interior dimensions are about 8.5" x 11", with the exterior dimensions being the larger size described in the shipping size section of the listing (10"x 13" or something like that). There was indeed a hole in the side of the knob on top of mine - my guess is that it's designed that way to allow interior heat to escape, although I can imagine how it would weaken the strength of the knob.
My biggest complaint is that the lid doesn't sit very steadily on the lip - it kind of wobbles around and doesn't provide a very good seal. If I had paid full price, I definitely would be sending it back. However, I paid $16 for it, so I can deal. I couldn't get a LC baker without a lid for that...
