The Multipurpose Asia Grinder Jar was created specifically to tackle the tough DRY & WET grinding tasks required in the diverse cuisines of India. Yet it is equally at home where grinding is vital to the cuisines from other parts of the world, (Mexican Moles, Thai Green Curry, Harissa, etc). The Asia Grinder effectively grinds Dry Or Wet ingredients into fine powder or a smooth thick paste, from as little as 50 grams to as much as 400 Grams in less than 2 minutes. Soaked Lentils, Rice, Coconuts, Chilies, Herbs, Ginger, Garlic to name a few, can be ground without adding a drop of water. A feat only possible using Stone & Pestle. The 1.25 liter Stainless Steel jar incorporates a new handle assembly with a user friendly locking system similar to the Asia grinder. It comes with 4 Interchangeable blades for various tasks such as Blending, Whipping, Mincing, Grating etc. The Small Quantity Grinder Jar is ideal for small amounts of dry and wet grinding, be it fresh coffee powder or a quick chutney.

Customer Reviews

You'll only ever need this machine.5
My mother had a sumeet, as did her mother. The blenders have done my family good for many years, and all the sumeets in my family are still currently in use, all these years later. I just bought my first one in Jackson Heights (in Queens, NY) for $150. Best money I've ever spent. The Asia Grinding Jar reduced my cocoanut to a fine powder that was like the freshly fallen snow. The Spice Grinder Jar took my toasted coriander seeds to an ultra fine powder. The tall, traditional jar made quick work of a whole lot of ice, and brought forth a cool, slushy beverage. It's worth ever penny.

UPDATE: The grinder died on me in 3 months. I sent it in to get repaired. Don't do this. I haven't heard from them since.

Great Machine5
This is a wonderful machine and does a great job of all grinding/blending/food processing tasks I assign to it. The Summet company is very well-known in India and their mixie is a staple of most households. Indian cuisine requires a lot of grinding of grains, pulses, legumes, spices and to make different chutneys/sauces. This machine does it all in a snap. I have the 110 Volt version which I purchased from an Indian grocery store in the US. It took me 2-3 tries to get used to the machine and figure out how all the accessories work together but now all food processing tasks are a snap. I love the small spice grinder - just the right size for grinding small proportion of foods.

The cons: I don't thing the parts are dishwasher safe. So typically, after a grinding job I run the machine with some water which removes all the debris and then cleaning by hand doesn't take long at all. Also, if you purchase the product in the United States you must know that the repair facility for the entire North American region is located in Toronto, Canada. So you would have to send your machine to Canada for any repairs.

The cons not withstanding, this is a powerful machine and very good at what it is supposed to do. It cuts the overall food preparation time drastically. Definitely recommended.

Don't waste your money1
Bought this machine few months ago. Wish I could give it 0 star or a negative rating
The taller jar doesn't work, in the sense that, whenever I try to grind something in it, the rubber part breaks to pieces. This happens every single time!!
The outer shell of the medium size jar has already cracked, The blades are touching the bottom of the jar.
It is just a overpriced piece of junk.
