michigan climbing
AH, i so miss Utah, CO, and Alaksa... now my climbing days are on my roof and anchor systems for roof repairs and such. But a whole new thrill when your brother with no climbing experience and a 5 minute instruction on safety promptly removes his belay rope hand!!! Black diamond is great and functions as expected
Heavy Duty Hook is Light as a Feather
Just to clarify, I did not buy this carabiner for climbing. I backpack a lot and keep one attached to my bags for a number of reasons-
a) For bear proofing my campsite. I use a rope and pully system where I lock my pack onto the rope with this carabiner.
b) I use rope when hanging clothes out to dry. Tie a rope around two trees and secure with this carabiner and you have a clothes line.
c) For pretending like I've climbed and having it attached to my pack makes me look tougher.
Ok, I'm just kidding about the third - but to anyone, carabiners are used a number of ways and, although this one is a bit pricey- it has lasted a long time AND it is very light weight, so I really don't mind carrying it at all. I don't think you'd mind either... unless I asked you to carry one around for no particular reason, then you might mind- because you'd look pretty silly at work holding onto a carabiner for no particular reason... plus, it would be hard to type.
I hope this review helps you out. I would recommend it to anyone who does not mind dropping a few extra bucks.
