Suzuki's GSX-R series revolutionized the sport of motorcycling. While other manufacturers had dabbled with building high-performance motorcycles, the GSX-R series were the first motorcycles to bring state-of-the-art racing technology to the street. Suzuki's GSX-R is an icon, a modern day BSA Gold Star. It is a bike you can ride on the street or race at the track. The GSX-R is a bike ridden by champions and casual racers alike. This book provides the best single resource for improving the performance of these modern-day classics, whether for road use or for racing.

Customer Reviews
Vague and basic
Most of what is described in this book can be found in almostany issue of Sport Rider magazine. You'd be better off spending your money on a subscription to that mag than buying this book. Very little information is given on the actual procedures and their vagaries on the GSX-R; there is light coverage of who to decide what to do, good converage of certain available products, and little information on procedures, installation, and tuning, as well as the benefits you could expect.
I was more than a little disappointed.
GSXR-not so performance projects
Fairly luke warm book that is not very technical or advanced. If you want a repair manual get a Haynes manual. If you want real performance improvement information to your GSXR go to the numerous GSXR forums and websites. If you want a fairly mundane read with a hint of repair manual and a hint of performance improvements then get this book. It will however let you know how to stick carbon fibre bits on your bike in more detail than I have ever seen elsewhere (could be because I am not interested in stick on carbon fibre......).
Summary - Fairly well written and illustrated but does not befit the title due to the lack of focussed content. Most riders who need to improve the performance of their GSXR to take advantage of their riding skills, probably already know how to remove the bodywork off their bike.
Great, for post-2000 models
Great book if you're interested in the post-2000 models.
Avoid it if you want info on the earlier models.
