Whether it's a big-bore, high-end custom sportbike you're after, or a naked, bare knuckles streetfighting drag racer, this book has the goods for getting you there. In three different scenarios, the nation's top builders give blow-by-blow instructions for completely rebuilding three popular streetbikes -- from performance modifications and exhaust systems to flawless finishes and detail work.
Focusing on highly customized Hayabusa drag bikes, including a slammed and lowered Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa, John Dantzler of the Charlotte, North Carolina, shop Two Wheel Customs outlines the suspension and engine modifications that the serious street and quarter-mile racer can make. He takes a salvaged, late-model four-cylinder street machine and transforms it into the kind of machine that both professional stunt riders and corner-carving enthusiasts favor.
Next, author Mike Seate covers the details on constructing and installing popular modifications -- everything from engine crash guards and wheelie bars to motocross-style handlebars and bikini fairings -- while stunt riders and streetfighter builders from the United States and Europe weigh in with tips and advice.
Last but not least, the builders at Wisconsins Patrick's Performance and South Carolina's Coastal Motorcycles provide a step-by-step account of the construction of two high-end custom sportbikes -- transforming a Yamaha YZF R-1 and a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 into the kind of machines that are eye-popping everywhere-on the streets or on the motorcycle show circuit.

“An informative, easy to read, step-by-step guide to building a custom bike.”
From the Back Cover
Whether it’s a stripped-down streetfighter, a bling bike covered in chrome and LED lights, or a stuntbike built for acrobatic maneuvers, pro streetbikes are the hottest custom bikes on today’s scene.
As the price of used motorcycles comes down, and the availability of aftermarket parts and accessories goes up, it’s only natural for the most creative builders in the world to find more and more ways to create incredible horsepower while pushing style to the limit.
In How to Build a Pro Streetbike, noted motorcycle journalist and author Mike Seate outlines five popular streetbike builds and explains how to assemble them yourself while maintaining a budget. A hot Hyabusa gets chopped and restyled. A Honda RC51 gets pumped up and modified to become a dual-purpose street-and-track machine. A GSX-R1000 loads up on bling and eye candy. A Suzuki Bandit gets chopped and trimmed into a lean, mean, streetfighter. And finally, a Honda CBR600RR loads up on safety gear and performance parts for stunt maneuvers.
Filled with color photography of each build and many examples of other pro streetbikes, How to Build a Pro Streetbike is the perfect companion to a custom build of your own.

What a waste! Not useful in any way!!! Doesn't actually teach anything!!!
The title is completely false. This is nothing like a do it yourself book. It's merely "shows" you mediocre pictures of guys building bikes. The pictures have no substance or real recommendations. The author doesn't know how to build anything, he's just familiar with nice bikes. He's a journalist NOT A MECHANIC! Really just a collection of mediocre pictures that you could find on the internet. Save yourself money and time and get better info all over the internet for free! Terrible, I really can speak poorly enough of this book.
