Amazon.com Review
Add quick flavor to pasta sauces or cooked vegetables with a little squeeze of garlic from this easy-to-use garlic press. Designed to be functional as well as fashionable, the press is made of durable stainless steel and has ergonomic handles made of comfortable molded plastic with stainless-steel accents. The "basket" that contains the garlic is removable for more thorough cleaning, and slides right back in for crushing more cloves. The press is dishwasher-safe, and has an eye for hanging from a toolbar. This Cuisinart kitchen tool is covered by a five-year, limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde
Customer Reviews
Read review below as well
I already reviewed the red press however I thought I better review this one as well. Katz from Philly, below, beat me to it. Please read both reviews--this is a poorly designed product, My original review for the red press:
I bought the Cuisinart for the name. Big mistake. After mashing the garlic, the little basket is consistently pulled out and PLOP! falls right into the food you merely wanted garlic in. So....if it falls into very hot olive oil, it can splash onto your hand and you have to quickly find something to pull the basket out of the oil. Bottom line, be forewarned----clever design in the boardroom, very poor design for the kitchen!
poorly engineered
This garlic press does not function on two levels...
1.The garlic "basket" comes out
2. The handles touch each other before you can execute a FULL PRESS..So there is always garlic in the basket that is wasted.
One plus is that it looks good...
Clumsy
I bought this garlic press because it came in pink to match the rest of my kitchen appliances. First of all, the garlic press part is detachable. which makes no sense whatsoever. After you press the first clove of garlic through and go to reload. The metal piece just flops on out. But at least it hasn't broken on me yet.
