The Merlin roof-prism binocular will be available in three models, 8x32, 8x42 and 10x42. Developed with input from Steiner Optics’ championship birding team and experts at the American Birding Association, the Merlin offers high-end optics, precise focus and close-focus range to within 6 feet, all in a portable package that allows for extended use without arm fatigue.

Named for a small bird of prey that relies on speed and stealth to take its quarry, the Merlin binocular features similar traits. The Merlin’s "Fast-Focus" center-focus system enables users to view the entire focus range with less than one full turn of the focus wheel. Therefore, users can zero in on their subjects quickly and easily, with very little movement, allowing them to observe wildlife with little risk of detection. Yet the precise focus wheel allows for razor sharp adjustments and holds views in focus for as long as the user desires.

Water-resistant and encased in a dark, non-reflective, rubber-armored body, the Merlin can be used outdoors under any conditions. The earth-toned armoring actually camouflages the binocular to a bird’s eye. Weighing under 24 ounces, the binocular is easy to carry on its own padded neck strap, or in a pack or jacket pocket.

To enhance brightness and ensure maximum transmission of natural colors, Steiner’s Merlin is equipped with fully multi-coated optics, with numerous applications of anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass optical surfaces.

Incredible View
These Steiner binoculars are the best field glasses I have ever owned. The price is excellent and comparing these with more expensive brands such as Swarovski and Leica there really is no noticeable difference.
You will not be disappointed with these binoculars!!!

MERLIN 8X42
Very good binoculars. Only complaint is that we wrote asking if the eyeglass cups could be purchased for them (eyeglass only since we all wear them) and no reply received. Being ignored is one of the poorest public relations stunts a company can do.
