Editorial Reviews

Review
A pro-marijuana book written by authors named Joy and Potter risks credibility questions, perhaps, but discerning guardians of the publics right to know will want to peruse it, at least. The book is in three sections. The first deals with the healing potential of cannabis psychoactivity and recent finding in mind/body medicine; the second shifts to a nuts-and-bolts focus on the preparation and use of the plant for medicinal purposes; and the third, specifically medical, includes discussions of specific afflictions. Marijuana is recommended as a remedy for arthritis, asthma, insomnia, and appetite loss, and as a palliative for glaucoma and other conditions. The chapter entitled The Healing Giggle effectively frames much of the discussion, for one of marijuanas primary healing attributes is as symptom reducer rather than cure, although to, say, glaucoma sufferers who cant tolerate conventional medicines (said to be as many as half of them), that distinction may be nugatory. Ultimately, this is a responsible, reasonable overview of medicinal cannabis. -- Mike Tribby-BookList 5/1/98

Cannabis is euphorigenic. The prefix eu in euphoria is the Greek work for well and, euphoria is a state of well-being. Cannabis helps us remember wellness--a feeling that guides us back to health.

Cannabis had been used by human beings around the world for medicinal, nutritional, recreational, spiritual, and industrial purposes for thousands of years........[as being this books primary focus]-the medicinal or healing uses of cannabis.

Healing is often somewhat erroneously equated with medical cure. The concept of healing, however, includes but is broader than that of cure. Cure is a physical phenomenon, whereas healing can occur on any or all levels of a persons being-body, mind, and spirit.

I bought it with the thought that it might suit me, to get an idea of how "IT" heals.
Well, I got more than just an idea.
Lot's of them. I am healing my self tremendiously.

Of course, if "one" has a little bit more common sense, than the standard level of school (govermental, not LIFE), you allready know most of it in here anyway.

It's like Cannabis Spirituality. Yet not.
