Electric bike kit review/Electric bike forum
I have one of these and I love it. It goes about 20 miles on a charge and I'm often surprised about how fast it is. I liked it so much I created a website for electric bikes. www.ebikehub.com. It is an electric bicycle discussion forum. There is plenty of information on the wilderness energy products there.

Mixed feelings READ
I bought one of these brushed kits a while back, ..Wilderness energy has had their share of problems with them.

First off, i loved this unit, i used it for 3 months, 3 days per week...it reached speeds of 31 MPH...blazingly fast while pedaling. I iddnt have it on a cruiser i was going for max speed so i put it on a 21 gear Mountain bike. Never had any problems..

However the units Charge controller is horrific. The first one died on me, then after the company sent me a new one, it also died...then..the company was nearly impossible to reach on the phone, and my emails never got returned...
i felt like i was being avoided...
(i also had throttle problems)

the weight of the (3) 12v Batteries actually slightly bent my rear rim of my bike..perhaps that is my fault however because they were allow rims..and not steel like regular beach cruisers use.
So i will overlook that. But i do know that most people put this kit on mountain bikes as well.

I cannot say that i will never do business with Wilderness energy again...but i can say ..right now..i would be looking elsewhere.

I have read MANY website reviews and discussion forums about the motor as well. While mine was fine by the time i decided to sell it and get out of it. I did read about many people having burned out motors.

Do a search on the internet and see for yourself.

I wish W.E. would perfect this kit...i loved it when it worked properly.
