Just plain soulful. I just returned from Kaua'i and got turned- on to this artist by a new found friend - Mikey-too. If you want to carry the Islands with you everyday then pick up any of John Keawe's CD's. Close your eyes, lay back, and listen. You won't want to come back!

Auhele: to drift or sail endlessly
John Keawe takes you to the Big Island of Hawaii to drift and sail endlessly with this album of slack key guitar instrumentals. Inlcuded are John's original compositions as well as a Bread cover. His artistry comes through in every song, but the title track is particularly beautiful. In "Whale Talk", you can hear the conversation between the mother and baby whale. His version of "The Hawaiian Wedding Song" makes it the song it was meant to be. Auhele is a great album to help you relax at your desk on a stressful or day or to provide a soundtrack for watching the sunset; I highly recommend it.

At a B&B on the big island, my wife and I were having breakfast, and the hostess started playing this music, and we both fell in love with it. After work, driving home, it relieves the road stress, and I actually enjoy the time vs. just hurrying to get home. A must-have CD!
