The method strictly says not to write down anything or make notes. This is because it wants you to rack your brain trying to remember what it has taught you in each lesson. This is a good thing and i dont want to take away from it, but after learning Hiragana start writing down things from this course.

Ideally you should go away and practice/increase vocab before doing another audio cousre but this is actually an advanced course. It just clean up and adds to the first course.
