As a result, the kart zips around at a safe but fun 10 to 12 miles per hour on most firm terrain, from flat to gently sloped. The Spirit is also built for safety, with dual lap belts to protect the passengers, an engine stop switch on the dashboard, and remote stop switch for parental control. And thanks to the 3/4-inch, jig-welded steel tube frame and 1-inch steel brush bars, the Spirit holds up to use and abuse through the years.
