Customer Reviews
One of the better bridal magazines
I got married a few months ago, and I did most of the planning by myself. For about a year prior to my wedding, I read a lot of bridal magazines to get ideas and inspiration. Most frequently, it was Brides, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, and Martha Stewart Weddings. Elegant Bride and Martha Stewart Weddings were by far the best of that bunch. (Brides & Modern Bride are practically the same magazine, 75% advertisements, and very little substantive content.) I know its not as well known, but I think this really is one of the better wedding magazines out there. Martha Stewart Weddings is great from a planning perspective; I liked Elegant Bride for design ideas. Elegant Bride has style, fashion and decor ideas that you won't find in other magazines. They do great multi-page photo spreads on all kinds of things, so if you're a visual person, you can (literally) take pages out of this publication for designing your wedding. It's also a magazine that pays a lot of attention to the details, and you will get different content issue-to-issue (not true of Brides/Modern Bride). It tends to be more upscale and appeal to a higher taste level. This doesn't mean you have to be planning an "expensive" wedding to like this magazine -- but if you are going for a more sophisticated tone, then this magazine will be a good fit. In the same vein, I also recommend In Style Weddings (although I believe that's a quarterly publication only available on news stands, not by subscription).
Great magazine!
Very nice ideas. I think this is better than Modern Bride. It has around 50% less pages than Brides and Modern Bride though. But i think that's just because Elegant Bride has less ads.
