I like 'Source Naturals' brand!!!
L-Carnitine is not a real amino acid but more like a B Vitamin. Your body can actually make it if you have enough Iron, B1, B6, and the amino acids Lysine and Methionine along with enough Vitamin C. Without ALL of these ingredients in sufficient quantities, you are likely to be deficient in L-Carnitine unless you eat a lot of meats and other foods of animal origin. Symptoms of a deficiency are confusion, heart pain, muscle weakness and obesity. This product.....Acetyl L-Carnitine.... is the best form of carnitine since it is exactly like what the body makes. It is involved with carbohydrate and protein metabolism as well as the transport of fats into the mitochondria of every cell in the body so that these long chain fatty acids can be converted into energy. Thus it is thought to help with obesity and diabetes. It provides so many benefits that it's considered one of THE 'anti-aging' supplements. Brain levels of Carnitine decline with age.....in comes dementia and alzheimers! Intake of 500 to 2,500 mg per day in divided doses does not cause any negative side effects. It's just a magnificent supplement if you buy the all natural 'Acetyl L' form of carnitine. When Amazon has their sale on grocery products, their price for this item is quite good.

Convenient and inexpensive
This product is very convenient and much less expensive than other brands. I have grown to trust Source Naturals products.

Seems to have the opposite of the desired effect!
I tried this product as it had been suggested on a respected medical organization's website that it might help with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I have both and welcome anything that might help reduce the symptoms.

I tried this supplement for a few days at each recommended dosage (1-4 tablets daily) and if anything, found that it made me feel even more tired.

I'm not a doctor and can't say how this supplement would work for you but I would not recommend this product at all!
