Amazon.com Product Description
A full decompression dive computer made of light, durable composite materials, the Suunto Mosquito is an ideal choice for recreational, professional, and competitive divers who refuse to compromise when it comes to safety. The Mosquito's essentials include depth, time, and decompression measurement tools that tell you exactly long you've spent at a certain depth, how deep you are, when you have to surface, and how fast you safely ascend. The combined tools let you maximize your diving performance without taking unnecessary risks. And you can rest assured that the decompression calculations are accurate thanks to Suunto's Reduced Gradient Bubble Model (RGBM), which is ultra-precise and reliable.

The Mosquito also offers multiple modes for different types of diving. Air mode, for instance, offers the advanced diving functions described above, along with extensive memory, profile recording, and dive planning functions. Air mode archives much of its information in the built-in logbook, which records your dive history and can store up to 36 hours of diving adventures. Nitrox mode, on the other hand, provides the same functions as Air mode but also enables the use of nitrox mixtures with oxygen content levels of 21 to 50 percent. The varying mixtures can make deep dives more palatable for longer periods without increasing the risk of narcosis. Nitrox mode has an adjustable PO2 limit (1.2 to 1.6 bars) and tracks CNS and OTU percentages through a graphical display (Oxygen Limit Fraction). Finally, the computer sports a Freediving mode that provides an accurate two-second depth and time recording interval. Note that the SCUBA and freediving information is kept in separate profile and history memories.

Once you're done with the dives, you can upload the dive information into Suunto's Dive Manager PC software (available via download from Suunto's web site). The application helps you better analyze the data and create a more detailed dive logbook, complete with photos and descriptions. It's also ideal for divers who want to keep a training diary.

As with any good wrist-mounted instrument, the Mosquito is streamlined and lightweight, helping it serve as a versatile sports watch in addition to a dive computer. Additional features include a timer/stopwatch function with split time measurements, a daily alarm, water-resistance to 330 feet, and a user-replaceable battery.

The Mosquito, which comes in your choice of black, yellow, or white, weighs 1.78 ounces and is backed by a two-year warranty.

Suunto Mosquito4
This dive computer might not have more functions than the others on the market but it has something that none of the others have, user replaceable batteries!!! and its smaller than the other ones!

gread dive computer5
I bought this dive computer few years ago and seriously love it.

1. it's very small - if you go on dive trips outside US be careful, dive computer is number 1 thing people steal, this computer is so small you can wear it all the time

2. replaceable battery - this is not that critical since the battery lasts for long time, but still. I usually pull it a day before I go diving... one small problem might be that you cannot turn this watch off (you cannot turn it off after diving and turn it back on 6 months later).

3. it's cheap - I think I paid less than $400

4. I had no issues to push the buttons underwater with thick gloves

few tips...

1. buy it only from authorized dealer - yes you will pay a bit more but suunto is very strict about the warranty !!

2. forget the ugly scratch cover it comes with, I purchased invisible shield from Zagg (the same thing you get for iPods), it works great (it was tiny bit bigger and I had to cut it). It does not peal off even after 100f+ dive, it makes the watch scratch resistant.

3. follow the watch rules !! if you dive too deep for too long the watch can block itself for 24 hours, removing the battery does not reset this protection. Be careful, the watch does not have Gauge Mode. I think this is the only issue of this dive computer.

Outstanding performance and value5
My wife and I have been using Suunto Mosquito's as backup computers when we travel, for about 5 years now. They are actually more convenient to use than our console computers. Both have functioned flawlessly. The batteries are cheap and easy to replace. It's so lightweight on the wrist that you hardly know it's there. The display is easy to read and the functions, like nitrox, are easy and intuitive. I have nothing but good things to say about this computer.
