Fluff
This book was a huge disappointment. It reads more like a self-help book than a business book. About a third of the book is dedicated to convincing you that you DESERVE more money. And then she pitches an additional program you can buy from her (classic infomercial-style with CDs etc.). I was so angry. I thought I was purchasing a book on the topic promised, not an advertisement for a product.
My worst Amazon purchase so far.

Insultingly insipid
Filled with new-age aphorisms, pages wasted with large writing containing said aphorisms...I am afraid that the reviewers above must be friends with the author.
I can't even get through this book. Someone with a graduate degree will have trouble settling into the fourth-grade level discourse.
It will be leaving my shelves ASAP.
A better choice, though not perfect, is Building Your Ideal Private Practice.

Excellent, practical advice
This is an excellent book, pointed and practical. Truffo provides insight and perspective on several issues that plague psychotherapists - then follows with immediate questions and action steps. This is a book for change, to be used rather than simply read. And the book is just the beginning. Truffo's website offers further advice, with free reports, audio and video clips, and regular workshops and teleconferences. I recently attended one of her four-day marketing workshops, and found my own understanding of how to get clients profoundly enhanced. I have since taken numerous actions, and have a steadily increasing clientele. And it ultimately took less effort than I thought would be needed. It was more a matter of applying myself, my time and energy, in the right places to reach my own particular goals. Thank you, Casey!
