Customer Reviews

Perception is reality5
For anyone who'd like to stop being a victim and start enjoying life as we were intended, I'd strongly recommend you pick up this book.

This book offers a practical, common-sense approach to changing the way you look at life and the challenges it offers, and it doesn't coddle you while doing it.

Few books I've ever read offered a true benefit to my life - I'm grateful I took the time to read it.

A Very Helpful Book5
Often times we wonder: "If God loves me, then why is my life miserable right now?" This book answers that question. And it's a good, hopeful, peaceful answer! This book talks about learning how to overcome our fears, our selfishness, our "false gods," and our bad habits. It shows how Jesus Christ's life, as told in His Word, is the ultimate example for our own lives, right down to the fact that He died and rose again! Part's of us must die and be born again in order to find true peace and happiness in a life of useful service to our neighbors. When parts of us have to "die," it's not easy or fun, but the Lord carries us through to a better place, if we turn to Him in prayer, in His Word, and in our lives. When we struggle in life, it's often a sign that we're on the right track! This book talks about the value of thinking spiritually, positively, hopefully, charitably, and how merely turning to the Lord with all our hearts can make our burdens light. "If you were to distill the message of the Word of God into two words, it would be Life Change." (page 154) Change is a struggle, but be of good cheer, because it is a redeeming struggle! And after the struggle, as the first chapter describes, "The Peace of Heaven Waits!"
At the end of every chapter are devotional readings from the Bible, and the Writings of Emanuel Swedenborg. If you don't have copies of Swedenborg's books at hand, you can look up passages on [...].

Be of Good Cheer5
My wife and I read this in (almost) 21 straight days as our morning reading together. It was a wonderful experience! It lifted us into a great place to start the day. And the most effective chapters are the ones that powerfully tell his story of overcoming, and the stories of others who persevere. We will read it again in the future, and we give it to our friends!
