Before they focus in on their native language, babies have an amazing ability to hear and absorb sounds that adults unconsciously block out, like the subtleties of a foreign language. Baby’s First Words in Chinese is an introduction to the sounds of Chinese and “locks in” a child's ability to learn these sounds.
Created by linguistic experts, Baby’s First Words in Chinese is designed for newborns to toddlers up to two years old. Each package includes:
·60 minute CD of sweet and soothing songs, rhymes, words and stories
·Parents’ guide that explains how children learn languages
·Lyric sheet so that parents can sing along to the songs on the CD with their children

Amazing
I love this method. Not long ago, I purchased the French one and when I realized my kids (3 & 18 months) were singing and counting in french by the fisrt month, I decided to buy the chinese one. It has been three days since we listen to it and already they try to repeat the songs. The songs and rhymes are so catchy and fun, I myself want to learn chinese.
Not just for babes....
This CD is outstanding for many reasons. The audio is clean & clear. The vocals and instrumentation are very good. The children's rhymes/songs actually heard in China today. The pronunciation/diction is clear AND the enclosed booklet includes lyrics in PINYIN and English translation.
This is one CD that is helping my 3 year old and me learn more & more Mandarin.
I LOVE this CD and so does my toddler!
My two-year-old daughter is in Mandarin class and so I was hoping for some music for her to listen to at home. I was uncertain of buying this without hearing it first, but was very pleasantly surprised that the music was so beautiful. It is really pleasant to listen to. I can't say that this will help your child speak Chinese, but it does help reinforce the sounds of the language and the tones, which being so different from English, will help your child later on if they decide to learn a foreign language. I find myself singing along to this CD even though I don't know what most all of it means. The songs begin with easy Chinese and then increase in complexity, so as your child learns the language they will understand more and more of it, which is nice. I was pleased that my daughter was being exposed to the sounds and tonal patters of Chinese (I hear Chinese sounding words and intonations out of her regularly now), but, for me personally, I found myself extremely relieved that not only was this not another really annoying children's music CD, but something I myself really enjoy listening to because the music is so pretty. I definitely think this is worth the money I paid for it!
