The new face of the West4
Like many things in Exalted Second Edition the West has also gotten an entirely new face. No longer are the only things described the Lintha and a scant reference to the Tya. Here we get a thorough background of all the major islands and their histories. The back story of why women choose to become Tya has more to it now than just escaping the misogynistic cultures all over the West. You get a back story of the places as they were in the First Age, how they came about to their current state, and then how they act in modern times. The most interesting part has to be the new places that are situated UNDER the waves, Leviathan's lost city of Luthe and the Pelagials (who now have a good reason for being) underwater home/shrine to their Yozi overlord.

This book is not required to have fun in Exalted, nor is it required to make a character from the West. But to have a good idea and for many adventures and premade NPCs, this book is wonderful.

Sadly, it is not perfect. Certain things are left unanswered, but not enough to really destroy the good points of this book. Plus, when Abyssals comes out you will have all the information on the Bodhisattva's Skullstone Archipelago.
