Hill is on a Roll
Artist's Dream by Gerri Hill was a hidden surprise. I just recently discovered that I missed one of Hill's romance novels, and I promptly bought and read it. This is her newest release (Oct. '05), and as I would expect, it was quite good. Hill does a wonderful job of developing a strong, caring, patient and loving character in Luke Winston. Luke meets and falls for the daughter of a reverend, Cassie Parker. Cassie is in denial about her sexuality, mostly because of her strict upbringing in the house of the Reverend Parker. And she has to come to terms with her sudden attraction to the alluring Luke Winston.

Luke's character is very likable, and it is easy to see how anyone would fall madly in love with her. If Cassie is ever to get out of the closet and out from under the oppressive rule of her father, Luke is the woman to help her do it. Hill writes a wonderful touching story of friendship developing into more, and she weaves in the importance of friends in the gay community. The story develops at a comfortable pace, and includes a little angst and mystery. And as always with Hill, there are incredible, sensual love scenes.

The book ends with a few unanswered questions, leaving Hill with a wonderful option of writing her first sequel. There are great possibilities to continue this story. I know I'll be waiting to see what she writes next. This is a great read.

Another great book by Gerri Hill!
I think everyone can relate to Artist's Dream. Cassie struggles with her overbearing father while trying to deal with ghosts from her past. It seems as if we have all known someone like Reverend Parker at some point in our lives. He's a man who believes that all homosexuals are going straight to hell and he reminds Cassie of that every chance he gets. Then there is Luke, a woman with great patience and love. Watching the relationship develop between Cassie and Luke is like watching a seedling begin to grow in hopes of it becoming a beautiful flower. This book is full of humor, love, and romance. You won't be disappointed.

Gerri Hill...Always an entertaining read
If you are familiar with Gerri Hill's writing then this book will be sure to entertain as her others do. She has an amazing way of writing about the chemistry between two people when they meet and as their relationship develops...we've all been there at one time or another in our own lives and we get to experience it again through her characters.

I recommend this if you are looking for a light, entertaining, fun lesbian romance read. No Drama, nothing too serious, not a Nobel prize winner...but that's what makes it good!
