Really glad I picked this one
Once I got this trimmer assembled and working only with the help of a Tanaka employee, I was glad that I chose this one. I got it because of the easy start feature. The instructions were basically worthless, not sure what the people who wrote the instructions were thinking or what they were on, but I had this wonderful guy from Tanaka on the phone who helped me with my every problem getting this assembled and started. He actually went out of his way to help me. Without his help, I would have returned the trimmer, but he was very kind and patient with me with my every phone call, as assembling new string trimmers is not my area of expertise. It's also a bit long for a girl to operate, but once I got the strap found it a pleasure to use. I would definitely buy this again if I had to do it all over again. I have a big property and weed wacking is not as much of a drag as it used to be. It really does start on the first start.

Best trimmer I have owned
Starts easily (two pulls usually), plenty of power for my lawn trimming and edging, I run at about half throttle most of the time and it does an excellent job. Motor is quiet. The no brainer string so far works great, and uses very little string on a normal lawn trimming. I do take along an extra, but have not had the need to replace it during the session. All in all, this is a great trimmer and I have no regrets on buying it.

Major Disappointment with Tanaka Grass Trimmer
I read so many positive and glowing reviews of the Tanaka Grass Trimmers and after much deliberation decided to purchase the TBD 240PFS for $249 which seemed like a lot of money for a weed wacker. However, I own a gentleman's farm in Ohio and have about three hours of weedwacking around countless fence posts, etc. I was looking for something very light to carry but very heavy duty. I thought this was the ticket. Was I ever wrong. I haven't had this junk for one month and it won't turn over for me. I have used it twice so far and it has never started that well. It is also much heavier than I thought. The cheap feather lite that I had been using for 10 years performs so much better. I am not about to take it into the shop and get it fixed either. It's going right back to Amazon if I can't get it to start this evening. I am so disappointed that I fell for all the hype in the reviews. I at least expected it to run well. What a rip-off! And the manual was WORTHLESS. So, this is what I get for $250. Shame on me.
