At the center of the machine's innovation is the Cyclone air path design, an eight-section chamber that creates powerful, consistent suction. The conical chambers generate 100,000 g of centrifugal force, pushing dust and dirt out of the airflow into the vacuum's 1-gallon collection cup. With no bag to clog, the vacuum's 270 air watts of suction remain steady. The large, transparent collection cup is easy to check and empties tidily--pop it off, hold it over a trash bin, and pull the trigger to release dirt without having to touch it. The DC07 also comes equipped with a multipart filtration system to improve overall air quality in the home. The HEPA filter, measuring 412 square inches in surface area, traps microscopic particulates & allergens. Expertly built, the filter is designed to last the lifetime of the machine. Suitable for bare floors and carpets, it features a 14-inch cleaning path and edge-cleaning bristles. A simple foot pedal switches off the brush roll for bare floors, & the nozzle automatically adjusts for changes in carpet height. The vacuum is equipped for above-floor cleaning with a cleverly stowed, quick-release 17-foot hose with a reversible, extension-wand handle. Onboard accessories include a crevice tool, a dusting brush, & an upholstery attachment, all designed to function without "sticking" to surfaces. Nice vacuum.
We upgraded to a Dyson Pink recently. We love how easy it is to remove and dump the canister and the amount of dust it picks up. We live in the desert where dust is a common invader and covers everything in the house. This vacuum gets up more dust than any other we have owned. The filters are also easy to remove and clean. The design is attractive too. I gave this vacuum 4 stars instead of 5 because the wand is a bit cumbersome when trying to vacuum in tight areas. Perhaps a different design for the wand would make it a bit easier to use. Also, the vacuum doesn't come with a practical attachment to get underneath beds. All in all, it's a good little vacuum for regular household cleaning.

this vacuum sucks!
We bought this DC07 in pink because a)our 7 year old hoover windtunnel v2 died, and b)it was on sale for 350 and my wife likes the fact a percentage was donated to breast cancer research.
Well, I unpacked it and gave her a test run, and when i first turned it on it made a grinding noise. Uh, oh, broken? I trurned it off and restarted, it was fine. And wow did this thing suck up crap! Our Hoover must have been dead a long time cause this thing got tons of loose carpet crap and dirt. I like the attachments and long cord too! It was so easy to push and it's light too. I recommend one highly. Price is a bit high but I am hoping worth it in the long run.
