I am a sucker for Conan and the first movie with Arnie was as true to Robert E Howard as one could hope for something out of Hollywood. It's a fun film and though the second is not as good, it comes with this particular edition and for the price, you're basically getting it for free.

Duh, it's Braveheart. One of Mel Gibson's finest performances as both director and star. This movie has everything that makes a movie great. Instant classic when it first hit the cinema.

I just love this movie. It was made in 1963 so the dated special effects may be a distraction for some, but the movie is just so much fun that if you give it some time, you'll hardly notice. It really is a great film on Greek Mythology and if anything, watch it with your kids if you have any.

Forget that dull film 'King Arthur' where they cut out all the Christian folklore and don't go near that sappy soap opera called 'First Knight', this is the only movie you need about the Legend of Camelot. It would have been better if it were spread out over multiple movies like Lord of the Rings, but it works very well as a standalone film. Beautiful, tragic and haunting all at once.

I wish they didn't strip the mythological elements from this retelling of the Iliad but it's still a great film. Material realism killed the latest King Arthur film with Clive Owen where they cut out the quest for the Holy Grail but Troy survived the makeover.

A lot of people did not care for this film, I thought it was really good. The battle scenes are excellent and Rosario Dawson steams things up. Alexander and his campaign of world conquest may be too big for one film but I think Oliver Stone did some good work here.

For those unfamiliar with the Evil Dead franchise, go watch all three. The first two are horror films set in modern times while the third (Army of Darkness) is a comedy and the only one to take place in medieval times. Like the Princess Bride it is full of memorable quotes.

George Lucas' last great creation. OK, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade was his last, but Willow came out a couple years before and was something new and fresh. Sword and sorcery and even a hobbit. Loved it as a kid and love it still today.

Excellent adaptation of CS Lewis' Classic.

One of the few truly good Fantasy films to follow Conan: The Barbarian in the '80s. The sequel is pretty bad, but the original is damn good.
