Confessions of a ShopaholicConfessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01
I bought this when I was in this phase of buying books with pink or yellow covers-but I turned out to love it! It's very cute and funny and totally not a book you need to figure out or anything. Good for relaxing. Becky just can't stop buying things.
Shopaholic Takes ManhattanShopaholic Takes Manhattan by Sophie Kinsella

The first sequel, with great shopping and clothing descriptions. It'll make you want to go shopping on vacation and the romance is really cute. Becky goes to NYC (duh.)

Third in the series. More fun.Becky plans a wedding-not something a shopaholic should be allowed to do.

A little different than the movie. A high school election and the gossip around it-so much fun to read.
Shopgirl: A NovellaShopgirl: A Novella by Steve Martin
Buy new: $5.99 / Used from: $0.76
I love this book. It had deeper meanings in it than a fun book normally has, but once I saw the movie I realised that a lot of what I thought was deep and thoughtful was meant by the author as funny.
Clara: The Story of the Pug Who Ruled my LifeClara: The Story of the Pug Who Ruled my Life by Margo Kaufman
Buy used from: $15.89
Margo Kaufman is a hilariously funny writer and this is a great book-it's not a dog obsessed weird book at all. It's just a comantary on several years in her life with a focus on how her very "special" dog fit into them. More people should read this!!! It's my perfect vacation book.
Isabel's BedIsabel's Bed by Elinor Lipman
Buy new: $11.70 / Used from: $0.01
Elinor Lipman is a great author, and her books are all great and funny and fun. This one has essentially no plot but a great story if you know what I mean. An aspiring novalist heads to the Cape to ghostwrite an autobiography (really one incident) of a very intresting woman..
The Inn at Lake DevineThe Inn at Lake Devine by Elinor Lipman
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $0.01
More Elinor Lipman. The story of a Jewish girl and her 10 year vendentta against an anti-semetic Vermont lakeside Inn. I'm not describing it well-it's the story of this girls life and the Inn features heavily in it.
The Pursuit of Alice ThriftThe Pursuit of Alice Thrift by Elinor Lipman
Buy new: $11.16 / Used from: $0.01
One socially challanged surgical intern (kind of the opposit of Grey's Anatomy) and a shady fudge selling man she meets wanting a nose job who pursues her as she begins to get a life. A GREAT book.

The story of two sisters, Mouse and Mimi. Mimi is an aspiring actress in LA, Mouse is making a documentary in Africa with Tony her British boyfriend. Then a ceiling fan falls on their mother and Mouse has to come home...
Marrying MozartMarrying Mozart by Stephanie Cowell
Buy new: $11.90 / Used from: $0.01
The story of Mozart's strnage courtship of his wife. And her three sisters. It's kind of like musical matramonial chairs, but very sweet.
Behind the Scenes at the Museum: A NovelBehind the Scenes at the Museum: A Novel by Kate Atkinson
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $0.01
And you thought your family was disfunctional. The secrets of this family make for a great story-and they are real secrets and actuall skeltons. Very fun with laugh out loud parts but a real seriouse storyline too.
Bitter SweetsBitter Sweets by Roopa Farooki

A very well and creativly written novel about three generations of lies and decite in a family spanning from India to London. Could be called intelligent chick lit, but so many books can be.

A very poignent novel about marriage and infedelity and truly being yourself after you've lost yourself.
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell: A NovelJonathan Strange & Mr Norrell: A Novel by Susanna Clarke

The second time I read this it just made me laugh. It's a very funny novel really. Smart also, but I put it on this list because of the humor.

The Good Fairies of New YorkThe Good Fairies of New York by Martin Millar

Remember Me?Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
Buy new: $10.08 / Used from: $0.01
Kinsella's best book to date. Even with the over used waking up in a new life and not knowing what happened to change you ( a frequent made for TV movie plot) Kinsella's natural wit and talent for drawing real comody out of every day occurances makes this a book that you won't be able to put it down-except when you need to stop reading to have a fit of hysterical laughter
