Galileo reflector telescope
Definitely not for beginners. But intermediate and advanced users will appreciate the telescope. The dvd is helpful and has a powerful planetarium that is also useful tool.
The advanced tripod would be a better option than the standard one and we should be given the option as to which one we like and be able to buy either tripod.
over all, this was a good purchase.

It works.
For a 100$ dollars i think its fine for a beginner.
If you think to go further in astronomy, go for a better telescope.
I give 4 becouse did work.
***I can see the Moon and lots of dark sky
I bought this telescope about 7 years ago. It's great in the sense that most friends of mine have NEVER been to a real observatory and when they see the moon in great detail, they are amazed.
I've been watching the moon for years.! I wish i knew a little more and i could learn to see planets (saturn would be nice).
I gave it a four stars because for the price, it is very durable and works well. I'm sure i can only see the moon because i'm not experienced.
In seven years:
* I lost the little finder that had a cool red lazer pointing to what i wanted to find.
* the mount is not so steady, probably because i leave it out in the sun all day.
* the tightening screw that holds down the eyepiece is lost ( errr, i've lost it)
I probably need to do a little maintenance on it, but like i said, it really surprises my guests and they enjoy it. I just want to see some colored galaxies, but i guess not on this one. My next one is going to cost around $450....but i have enjoyed this one so much.
