Customer Reviews
It's coconut milk... barely
I'm probably spoiled having come from organic and Thai-kitchen brands of coconut milk, but this stuff is really pitiful. It has 3 grams of saturated fat (doesn't say it's "lite") compared to 10 grams in other brands and you can tell the difference: it's watery, unsatisfying, creamless, and tasteless. Also, it has "sodium metabisulphite" for a preservative. I can think of only one reason to buy this coconut milk: it's cheap. Well, you get what you pay for, so please pay for something real.
Thick, rich and delicious!
I have tried many brands of coconut milk and Chaokoh is my hands-down favorite. It's thicker than most brands--almost like whipped cream--and has a uniformly creamy taste and texture. It makes an excellent dip for fruit and adds delicious creaminess to smoothies and soups. The Chaokoh brand is recommended by many Thai cooking experts, as well as by Food & Wine magazine and Cook's Illustrated. Be warned: it's addictive!
