Product Description

Good teachers are so much more than instructors in the three Rs--they're coaches, therapists, career counselors, and surrogate parents all rolled into one. In this moving collection of more than fifty true stories, teachers and students alike reveal the life-changing moments taking place in classrooms all over the world, transforming--and sometimes saving--young lives.

Good teachers can make all the difference--and Teacher Miracles celebrates this special and often dramatic role teachers play in all our lives.

Customer Reviews

A True Learning Experience5
This is much more than an inspirational book. Teacher Miracles doesn't just deal with classroom stories. It is about the psychological interaction of students and their teachers.
Usually, we think in terms of how the teacher helps the student develop. But some of these stories are about how teachers benefit from their interaction with their students.
We are reminded that teachers are students themselves, always striving to learn and know more. As they help their students develop intellectually, morally and psychologically, they strive to improve themselves as well. A meaningful book and an excellent read. Fifty teachers and students from around the world contributed to this amazing book. The editor, Brian Thornton, is himself a teacher and writer.
