Fredricksburg Smokehouse and The Art of Floyd Gentry have linked up. I met the Smokehouse family 15 years ago while studying painting with the founder of the Cowboy Artist of America Joe Beeler in Kerrville,Texas. Joe and I had dinner every night with a few cold ones. One night Joe was telling the story about his early days in learning to paint cattle and Joe just wasn't happy with the way he was painting the movement of his cattles legs. John McGrew a new member of Cowboy artist gave him the idea of making the cattledrive scene so dusty you couldn't see the legs, GENIUS! Joe loved to laugh about the good ol' days. Sadly Joe passed on last year but I haven't forgot those great times in the Texas hill country enjoying Fredricksburg steak. So I'm presenting it here for you art lovers and Gourmet food devotees.
