Amazon.com Product Description
Serious runners need serious, high-performance running clothes. Leave bulky damp fabrics behind with the Pearl Izumi Phase Running Tight. Built to keep you cool, dry, supported, and streamlined when the temperature drops, the Phase tight features signature Pearl Izumi high-performance moisture wicking Sensor fabric, a built in support brief, flatlocked zero chafing seams, reflective detailing, and a comfortable plush waist with drawstring.
Whether you are a weekend runner, a sprinter, or are in training for a Marathon, this tight is a staple for every outdoor runner. Pearl Izumi has built its reputation on creating the highest performance technical fabrics in the world. The Sensor fabric will quickly wick moisture away from your skin to the outer layer for evaporation, keeping you dry as even as you exert yourself. The built in brief allows you to maintain optimum streamlined form, without losing needed support, and flatlocked seams insure that your skin won't chafe at all. The plush waistband with drawstring provides a perfect custom fit, and reflective detailing makes it safer to run at low light or after dark.
Like all Pearl Izumi products the Phase Tight has a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, that excludes failures from accidents, misuse, improper care, or normal wear. For best results Pearl Izumi recommends washing its products with detergents free of additives, such as fabric softeners and perfumes, because detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance. Hang dry the product or dry it on a low or warm dryer setting. Never use a hot dryer setting or use a commercial dryer as this will damage the fabric's performance.

Pearl Izumi Tights
A few issues - It doesn't state anywhere in the description that these are mens tights. I would have ordered a size smaller if I knew. Also, the reflective designs on each leg began to peel off after the first wear! I was shocked. So after about the third time I wore them I just peeled the rest off. I was fairly dissapointed with these tights and with amazon for the poor description. I will not be buying this brand of tights again.
Great pair for running
I use these for running and biking.
Very warm in the winter once you get started, Med was perfect on me (5'10" 170 lbs).
High quality fabric and comfort.
Good quality..
I purchased these after a minor hamstring pull playing ultimate frisbee...over the last month they have made a real difference to my play in cold weather sports (running, ultimate frisbee and cycling). I used to think that they were just about looks but am now a convert to these tights.
There have even been some cool studies about these kind of running wear...
Aerobic energy cost and sensation responses during submaximal running exercise--positive effects of wearing compression tights.
Bringard A, Perrey S, Belluye N.
EA 2991 Efficience et Déficience Motrices, Montpellier, France.
"This study aimed to examine the effects of wearing compression compared to classic elastic tights and conventional shorts (control trial) on oxygen cost and sensation responses during submaximal running exercise. ....
Wearing compression tights during running exercise may enhance overall circulation and decrease muscle oscillation to promote a lower energy expenditure at a given prolonged submaximal speed"
